C Programming

Syllabus (1 Month · ~20 sessions · 1 hr each)

Week 1 — Basics & Environment

• Session 1: Introduction to programming & C language history
• Session 2: Setup (compiler, IDE), first program — Hello World
• Session 3: Variables, data types, constants, input/output (printf/scanf)
• Session 4: Operators (arithmetic, relational, logical) & expressions
• Session 5: Type casting, sizeof, practice problems

Week 2 — Control Flow & Loops

• Session 6: if, if-else, nested if, switch-case
• Session 7: for, while, do-while loops
• Session 8: Nested loops, break & continue
• Session 9: Pattern printing & number problems
• Session 10: Mini practice set + doubt clearing

Week 3 — Arrays, Strings & Functions

• Session 11: 1D arrays — declaration, input, traversal
• Session 12: 2D arrays basics & simple matrix ops
• Session 13: Strings (char arrays), strlen, strcpy, strcmp
• Session 14: Functions — declaration, definition, call, return
• Session 15: Call by value vs reference, recursion intro

Week 4 — Pointers, Structures & Project

• Session 16: Pointers basics — address, dereference
• Session 17: Pointers with arrays & functions
• Session 18: Structures — definition, members, simple use
• Session 19: Mini project (calculator / student record / number system)
• Session 20: Project review, revision & assessment

Outcome: Write basic C programs, use arrays/functions/pointers, complete 1–2 small projects.
